Thursday 8th April, 2010 Frankie had been having a good day, the pregnancy had been confirmed and although in the early stages everything so far was going well. She was so happy to be carrying a baby for her gorgeous son Dominic and his partner Sam. After the pregnancy had been confirmed Dominic told her that he was going to book a surprise trip to Hawaii for him and Sam and Frankie thought it was a wonderful idea and told her son as much. She knew that Dominic was a bit of a workaholic though when it came to his fans and when she heard that he was putting on a spontaneous show for his fans while on Hawaii she wasn’t too surprised. It was a typical Dominic thing to do. She had just been relaxing and knitting some baby clothes despite it being early days when the phone had rung. She wasn’t sure if it may have been her daughter Lianda and they could usually talk for hours, so she had picked up her glass of orange juice and walked over to the phone and answered it. She hadn’t expected the news she heard and the glass which had been in her hand dropped to the floor and smashed into a pieces. She wasn’t worried about the glass, the only thing that mattered was her gorgeous son and what had happened to him. Frankie couldn’t help but think it was some cruel twist of fate to have been reunited with the twin she thought had died at birth to now find out that her other son might die. She had to get herself down to the hospital right away. She couldn’t even have Fredrico with her because he had to go to Italy for a business trip and would be out of the country for a week or two. Then Eduardo was out of State due to a university course trip and wouldn’t be back for a few days either. She contacted Lianda and told her what happened and was about to contact Ryan when she got a call from him herself and he explained that he could be a perfect match for Dominic and that they were bringing Dominic home by air ambulance. This gave Frankie some sort of comfort knowing that she didn’t have to try and find last minute flights to get to Dominic, he was going to be coming home. However Ryan had then said they were told to be there in six hours time, time that felt like a lifetime to Frankie. She was beside herself with worry and the knitting was put aside because she just couldn’t concentrate on any one single thing. Frankie had to then call Lianda and tell her that they were to wait for Dominic to come home and Lianda said she would drop the kids off at their other grandparents and get round as soon as she could. Thankfully Ryan turned up along with Lianda and the three of them consoled each other while they waited and waited for the time that they would have to go to the hospital. Then they got a telephone call about three hours later from a Doctor Laura Innes at Laughlin Royal Hospital to say they should come down as soon as they could so that they could test Ryan to make sure he would be a perfect match and to then prep him for surgery if he was. So the three of them made their way to the hospital and Frankie and Lianda were beside themselves with worry while Ryan got tested. It soon became apparent that Ryan would indeed be a perfect match and they began to prep him for surgery so that when Dominic arrived they could carry out the operation right away. About half an hour later Frankie saw a doctor and some nurses pushing a stretcher at an alarming rate down the corridor and she soon realised that it was Dominic and she saw Sam and one of Dominic’s band members Tommy walking behind. She stood up as they went passed her and wanted to touch him, to talk to him to say or do something but as she saw how he looked Frankie almost collapsed onto the floor if it hadn’t been for Lianda’s quick actions to catch her fall. The doctor then spoke, “I know you must be really worried about your son Mrs Salvatore but the sooner we get your son operated on the better.” All Frankie could do was to nod her head as if she was on autopilot. Then it was like she snapped back into reality as she saw Sam and knew what he must be going through and how he must be feeling and without another word she ran toward him and wrapped her arms around him tightly, hugging him to her. “Oh Sam my darling, I am so sorry, what are we going to do if...” But she trailed off, she couldn’t think like that and she knew that Sam definitely wouldn’t want to hear it. Frankie was trying to keep strong she knew she needed to be strong for Sam but she was Dominic’s mother and she was carrying their child, it was supposed to be the happiest time of their lives and she could lose her son, although she already looked to Sam as her own too, but her emotions were all over the place especially with the pregnancy and she couldn’t keep the tears back any longer as she clung to Sam and sobbed her heart out. After a few moments she tried to compose herself, and then through the sobs she tried to talk to Sam, “I don’t know how it must have been for you, having to witness it, I can’t even begin to imagine, I hope they find whoever done this to our gorgeous boy.” Frankie then led the both of them to a couple of chairs and sat down and took Sam down with her on the seat next to her and then she just pulled Sam to her as she put her hand around the side of his face and gently rested her chin on his head and then with the hand that was on the side of his face she began to use it to caress his hair in what she hoped would be a soothing manner until they found out more about what was happening with Dominic. Then Tommy approached the both of them, “Mrs Salvatore, I’m just gonna head home real quick, I need to go get a change of clothes and let the other guys know what’s happening, I’ll be back later. Dominic’s a fighter, I’m sure he’ll be okay.” He said and then he bent down and kissed Frankie on the cheek and then put his hand on Sam’s back and patted it gently, “See ya later mate.” Then he walked off and left Frankie alone with Sam and Lianda.

Sam walked hand in hand with Tommy, following Dom where they were taking him. His heart was beating so fast, just hoping and praying that he would pull through the operation. Though Sam was also happy that Ryan, Dom's twin, was a perfect match and was able to be there to help Dom when he needed it the most. Sam soon saw that they probably shouldn't go any further, and noticed that they were in the waiting area, where he guessed they needed to stop. He slowly let go of Tommy's hand, giving him a weak smile, and then he felt a pair of arms go around him.
Sam blinked back fresh tears, putting his arms around Frankie, resting his chin on her shoulder. He nodded slightly when she said sorry, and then heard her trail off, having a fair idea what she was going to say. Hearing Dom's mum crying, just set Sam off, and he just stood there with her crying right along with her. After a few moments Sam felt Frankie pull away, and he then wiped his eyes with one of his hands. He took in a few deep breaths letting them out, as Frankie spoke to him. Hearing what she had to say made him think back to seeing the whole scene again in his head, and he shuddered a little. It had been the most terrible minute, seconds even, in his life. He nodded when she said hope they find whoever did this. Anger then filled him a little, thinking of who had done this to Dom, feeling his hands clench into fists for a few seconds.
Sam followed Frankie to where they had been sitting, and nodded slightly towards Lianda was, then sat down. No words were really needed between any of them, as it was all now a waiting game, one that Sam didn't really want to be a part of. He just wanted Dom back to normal, and in his arms once again. Tonight was meant to be their time alone after the concert, and now Simon took that away from them. The feel of Frankie's safe and comforting arm around him made Sam start to relax a little, remembering how Dom was with him. It seemed to him that Dom got his caring and loving side from his mum, which he loved right now. If he closed his eyes now, he could imagine it being Dom with his arm around him, and now moving his hand through his hair.
Tommy's voice was then heard through his thoughts, and he slowly opened his eyes to look up at him. Sam blinked a couple of times, and gave Tommy a weak smile, when he patted him on the back gently. He nodded, and found his voice, a quiet one, "Thanks so much Tommy. See ya." Tommy soon left them alone, and Sam slowly moved out of Frankie's embrace, despite loving it right now. He looked at her, wiping at his eyes, which he was sure were very red, and took her hand in his own. "How is Ryan taking this? I am sure it is hard on his, just as much it is on all of us. But he has just gotten to know Dom, and ...." Sam could feel his emotions starting to act up, and he took a deep breath, compressing them down. "...and now that this has happened. But I am glad that he has come into our lives now, as he can help Dom more than ever now."

When Frankie had run to Sam and wrapped her arms around him she soon felt Sam’s go around her and his chin on her shoulder. In Frankie’s eyes Sam was already as much her son as Dominic, Ryan and Eduardo were and as she embraced him and sobbed and heard Sam cry with her she just felt this sudden rush of love for him, not that she didn’t feel it before as she loved Sam from the moment Dominic had introduced him but somehow it just felt much more stronger this time. When Frankie pulled away she saw Sam wipe at his eyes and she couldn’t help but do the whole fussy mother thing as she went into her handbag and brought out some paper tissues and dabbed under his eyes with it and then kissed him on the cheek. She then took a fresh one and did the same with her own eyes and spoke saying she hoped they would get who had done it.
Frankie had then led the both of them to sit down and Lianda noticed Sam acknowledging her and she returned it with a sad smile of her own. Really she was too upset to try and talk and knew if she did, she would just start to cry again. For some reason it was getting to Lianda more now that Sam was there knowing how he must be feeling and she already saw Sam as a brother-in-law despite him and Dominic not being married yet. Frankie had then wrapped Sam into a loving, caring and motherly embrace. She would have quite happily continued to embrace Sam like that for as long as he needed it. Tommy’s voice was soon heard as he spoke about getting a clean change of clothes and updating the rest of Dominic’s entourage on his condition. Frankie acknowledged what Tommy said with a weak smile and nod of the head and then he proceeded to tell Sam that he would see him later and Sam replied thanking him. “Not a problem mate.” Tommy replied and then he was gone.
Frankie then felt Sam move out of the embrace and saw that he wiped at his eyes some more and so she fished out a clean paper tissue and handed him one over. Frankie then felt Sam take one of her hands in his own and asked her Ryan was taking it. She didn’t say anything until Sam was finished with what he was saying even if he did break mid sentence at one point she knew that having to think about any of this was difficult. When Sam was finished Frankie used her thumb to caress the back of Sam’s hand in what she hoped was a soothing manner. “Ryan was devastated as we all were, although I’ve not been able to get in touch with Fredrico or Eduardo yet and they really need to know. But Ryan was especially happy when he knew that he could help save Dominic’s life. I have to admit and I feel bad for even thinking it, but I wondered if it was some cruel twist of fate that they brought Ryan back to us just to take Dominic away, but I’m so happy that Ryan is here and able to hopefully help.” Frankie answered Sam and felt her emotions get the better of her once more.
Frankie began to sob again despite trying to keep a strong mind for Sam’s benefit but it was just too difficult, how can any mother be strong when there is a chance that their son could die? “I was told that Ryan should come round quicker from the operation than Dominic for obvious reasons, so we might be able to get into see him soon enough.” Frankie said when she had stopped crying long enough. She then just hung her head down, all of this waiting was too much, she wanted to see her son, both of them and know that they were both okay and to be able to hold them both in her arms again, she didn’t care if they were in their late twenties, they were still her babies. “Oh Sam, I can’t cope with this, it’s all too much.” Frankie said as she sighed a little and then felt a niggling in her abdomen.
She gasped slightly at the pain she was feeling and the only thing she could think of was the baby, please dear god don’t let anything happen to this child, don’t you think you’ve caused this family enough heartache today. The pain didn’t last too long but it still worried her. “I need to try and keep as calm as possible Sam, I don’t think any of this is doing the baby any good and the last thing I want to happen is to lose my grandchild as well as my son.” Frankie broke down into sobs again then unable to keep her emotions in check any longer.

{ooc - sorry if the post isn't good.... just tired.}
After Frankie had pulled away, Sam had wiped at his eyes, just wanting to stop crying, as he had been doing that on and off ever since the event of Dom being stabbed. He then saw her pull out a tissue and wiped a little under his eyes. Sam closed his eyes briefly, not remembering the last time his mother had ever done that to him. Maybe when he was little, but never as a grown man.
After Tommy had left, Sam had moved out of the embrace, wiping at his eyes again. Frankie handed him another tissue, which he nodded and slightly smiled at, taking it from her. Soon his face was somewhat dry from the tears, and he took Frankie's hand, asking how Ryan was taking it, and talking more about other things. He felt her caress his hand, and listened to what she had to say in reply. Sam nodded, giving her a weak smiling, hear about Ryan and how he took the news. She mentioned not being able to get in contact with either her husband or son, which he took a mental note of to maybe suggest he try soon for her. The last bit she mentioned made him wonder. Was this the universe's way of telling them that only one can survive? Sam felt sick just thinking like that, as he didn't want to lose Dom at all.
"I am glad that Ryan is able to help. Maybe he was meant to find us for this very reason. Sad I know, but at least he is able to help Dom when he needed his twin the most." As Frankie sobbed again, Sam put his arm around her, trying to confort her. Then he remembered what he was thinking before. "Do you want me to try your husband and son again while we wait?" He hoped he could help, instead of just sitting on his arse doing nothing.
After Frankie calmed down a bit, she mentioned the fact that they would be able to see Ryan first, for obvious reasons. Sam nodded in acknowledgement. "Sounds good." He sighed a little bit, as Frankie hung her head. Sam hoped and prayed that everything would be alright for both of them, and that they would be speaking to both Dom and Ryan soon enough. Frankie then spoke, and hearing what she had to say made Sam feel the tears sting in his eyes. He blinked a few times, taking in a couple of deep breaths. Just when he thought all the tears were gone, more popped up.
Sam instantly looked at Frankie when she gasped, and took her hand again, "Are you okay?" He frowned slightly, wondering what was wrong, but she soon told him. Sam bit on his lip slightly, knowing that what she was saying was correct. Along with Dom, Frankie had to keep thinking about the baby that she was carrying for Dom and Sam, despite knowing that Beth was a full grown teenager now from the future. He nodded, then watched Frankie burst into tears. Sam instantly wrapped his arms around her, feeling the tears making an appearance again. He looked at Lianda, hoping that she was okay, despite the situation they were all apart of now.
Once Sam felt that Frankie was a little more calmer, he pulled away from her, and wrapped his arms around her arm, and kept himself close to her. He looked over at the door where they had wheeled Dom through, and wondered how long they would have to wait.

When Frankie had pulled out a paper tissue and dabbed under Sam’s eyes with it gently she saw his eyes close and she remembered what Dominic had said to her that time about how Sam’s parents hadn’t taken his sexuality too well. It made her want to be more like a mom to him than ever. “Sorry if I’m fussing over you too much darling, but I never see my children as grown up, they will always be my babies no matter their age and that includes you.” Frankie gave Sam a very weak smile then. She looked around then wondering when they would hear anything about the operation. She just wanted to know that it had gone well and that both her sons were going to survive. However she still had that nagging doubt in the back of her head that now she had been reunited with one, the other was going to be taken from her.
Sam had then taken Frankie’s hand and asked about how Ryan had taken the news. Frankie had answered adding in a few other thoughts and then Sam replied and Frankie had to nod her head and give Sam a weak smile at what he was saying. “Yes, it is sad to think that he was meant to find us for this very reason, but he was only too willing to help. I know that he just wants to belong to a proper family, to his real family and of course we’ve all made him very welcome.” Frankie then looked over Sam’s shoulder to see that Lianda was just sitting back in the chair with her head looking up at the ceiling. Frankie leant over Sam slightly to speak to her daughter, “Are you alright sweetheart?” She asked and Lianda just turned to face her with tears in her eyes and nodded her head slowly. “I just don’t want anything to happen to my eyeliner buddy.” She replied and then gave a half laugh remembering the day that she had found out he was using her best eyeliner.
Frankie gave her a weak smile, “I know sweetheart, but hopefully we will hear something soon.” Frankie had then begun to sob again trying to stay strong for Sam and Lianda but finding it increasingly difficult to do. She soon felt Sam’s arm around her trying to comfort her. He then asked if she wanted him to try and contact her husband and son. Frankie gave him a small smile and replied, “Thanks darling, you can try, but I’m not sure that either of them will be able to get home easily, Eduardo is on a university course trip and Fredrico is away in Italy on a business trip.” However Frankie went into her bag and scribbled down their cell numbers onto a piece of paper she ripped from a notebook in her bag and handed it to Sam. “You can try, thank you.” She hadn’t meant to hear Sam’s thoughts about wanting to help but sometimes when she’s upset she finds it increasingly difficult to shut her ability off the same.
After Frankie had said that they would probably get to see Ryan first for obvious reasons as he was bound to come round from the operation more quickly she smiled as Sam said it sounded good. Then Frankie had felt a pain in her abdomen and let out an involuntary gasp because she was worried that something was going to happen to the baby. She soon felt Sam take her hand again and ask if she was okay. Frankie didn’t hold anything back and said that she had to try and keep calm as the last thing she wanted was to lose her grandchild as well as her son and then she had broken down into sobs again. She soon felt Sam’s arms around her and she instinctively wrapped her own around him. When she felt calm enough she couldn’t help but say to Sam in whispered words that only he would probably hear, “You’re a good boy Sam, I’m so glad my gorgeous boy Dominic found you.”
Lianda spotted Sam looking over at her and she gave him a weak smile and then spoke quietly saying, “I’m okay, look after mom, thanks.” When Frankie began to calm down a little she felt Sam pull out of the embrace but wrapped his arms around one of her own and that move made Frankie feel a little safer just having him close to her. She was just starting to feel a lot calmer about things when she felt herself getting very hot in the head and then got a massive pain in her head followed by a cramp in her stomach. She then cried out, “Sam, I feel so...” But that was all she got out when she passed out and would have fallen onto the ground if it hadn’t been for the fact that Sam had his arms around one of her own.
Just then the doctor Laura Innes came out of the room where the operations were taking place on Ryan and Dominic. “What’s happened here?” She asked looking from Sam to Lianda. Lianda shook her head, “I don’t know she just, she’s pregnant though.” Laura raised her eyebrows in surprise, “She’s pregnant?” She asked quite alarmed. “Yes, she’s carrying a child for...” But that was all Lianda got out before she broke down into tears. Laura didn’t wait to hear anything else she reached over to the wall and picked up the internal telephone. “Get an orderly along here now, Mrs Salvatore who is pregnant has just collapsed; I predict possible elevated blood pressure given the current circumstances.”
An orderly arrived with a wheelchair just as Frankie was beginning to come around, “I think I’m okay.” She said, but Laura was having none of it. “I want you checked out given your current condition, no arguments.” Frankie just hung her head and gave a weak smile, “Okay then.” Lianda stood up, “I’ll go with mom Sam, if I’m not mistaken I think Dominic’s friend Tommy is going to be back soon anyway.” She then left with Frankie and the orderly and Laura turned to Sam. “I was just about to let you know that the operation to remove Ryan’s kidney has gone well and we’re just about to start transplanting it into Dominic. The soon as I have more news I will come back out and update you again.” She then placed a gentle hand on Sam’s shoulder, hoping that this Tommy would be back soon as Sam needed someone out there with him.
{ooc - going to bring Tommy back in for a couple of posts now - but his won't be too heavy on speech - so you shouldn't have too much to reply to}

Tommy had been away from the hospital for about an hour now, or maybe just over it. He had jumped into the shower and freshened up and then got changed into some fresh clothes. He had then contacted all the other band members and dancers and made them aware of Dominic’s current situation and they had all agreed to get a massive bouquet of flowers sent to the hospital for him in the hope that he will make a speedy recovery. None of the other band members and dancers were back home yet as they had flights booked and they weren’t able to get onto an earlier flight so they had told Tommy that if he got to see Dominic to tell him that they were all asking after him. Tommy had naturally agreed and then picking up his keys made his way to the hospital again.
He looked completely different now, no make-up on and was wearing a casual shirt and a pair of denims. He now looked like your average straight guy. He was at the hospital within about fifteen minutes as he lived fairly near to Dominic and he made his way to where he had left Sam and Dom’s mom earlier. As he approached he saw that Sam was sitting alone and wondered why that was. He hoped that nothing had happened to Dominic, but surely if that had been the case that they would all have been there consoling each other? He knew that the only way he was going to find out anything was to approach Sam.
He sat down next to him and gave him a weak smile, “Hey Sam mate, where has Lianda and Mrs S gone, why ya on your own?” He asked and then looked across at the door where he knew the operations had been getting carried out. “Nothing went wrong with the operation did it? It was my first thought as I walked along here but then thought that you’d all be together. Can I get ya a coffee or anything? I know they’re usually pretty shit out of those machines but better than nothing I guess.” Tommy asked as he gave Sam another small smile.

Frankie commented after she dabbed under his eyes with the tissue, and he gave her a weak smile. "Thank you." What more could you say to someone who looking at you as their fourth son? Not much, but Sam was grateful, as his own parents, especially his father, was not that happy still about his chosen lifestyle.
Sam listened to what Frankie had to say in regards to Ryan now being part of the family. He remembered how welcoming Dom's family was of himself, and he wasn't a blood relative, just his son's new love. Though Sam loved them like his own, and still knew that in the back of his mind that he would have to eventually tell them about Dom, their new relationship status, and also get the approval of his father after all this time. "I understand fully, and the time that I have spoke to him, he seems just as wonderful as Dom. Though I will stick with Dom." He was going to add, through good times and bad, and really right now they were definately going through a bad time, which was only caused through a jealous person who he just wanted to forget.
Frankie spoke to Lianda, who responded back, and Sam turned to her, givine Lianda a small smile, and took her hand in his own. He gave it a gentle squeeze, just wanting to be there for both of them. Sam had then used his free arm to wrap it around Frankie's shoulder. He had asked if he could contact her husband and son, and Sam gave her a bit of a smile when she said he could. She spoke of where they were, and he nodded. Though Frankie soon handed over the numbers, and said he could try. "No worries. Will try for you soon." Sam moved slightly to shove the piece of paper in his pocket. Once he felt that everyone was a bit calmer, he would try at least once, and if nothing else leave a message on their respected phones.
When Sam had asked if she was okay, Frankie said that she had to try and keep calm, which he understood. He wrapped his arms around her, and felt her do the same. As they kept the embrace up for a few more moments, Sam heard Frankie whisper to him. He swallowed a little, and felt a tear roll down his face. Sam then turned to Frankie, pulling away slightly, and looked her right in the eye. "I am glad that he found me too. Wish I could have done more there this afternoon." Sam wish he had a better ability other than his Superhuman Intelligence. He couldn't defend anyone with his brain.
Sam saw Lianda looking at him, and told him to look after Frankie. He nodded, and turned his attention back to Frankie, removing his hand from Lianda's and wrapping both of his arms around Frankie. The next thing that happened felt like it was going in slow motion for Sam. All he heard was Frankie cry out the start of a sentence, then she passed out. Sam kept a firm grip on her arm, but didn't want to break it, or pull her shoulder out. So with one arm, he moved it around her abdomin gently and kept her upright in the chair.
Lucky for them Laura come in asking what happened. Sam looked at her, then back at Frankie, hoping she would wake up soon. Lianda spoke, and Laura sounded quite surprised at the fact that Frankie was pregnant. Lianda didn't finish her sentence as she broke down and cried. Laura soon called for some help, and hearing what she said made Sam's heart start to beat faster. What a day, he thought, what else can be thrown at this family? He shook his head, just as a wheelchair was brought around to take Frankie somewhere. He felt her come around, and Sam looked at her, making sure that he was being gentle with her.
Even with Frankie saying she was okay, Sam wanted to protest, but Laura got in first. So Frankie gave in, and Lianda said that she would go with her mother, which was only right, and Sam nodded. When she mentioned that Tommy was going to come back soon, Sam nodded again, "Yeah, I can't see him being too much longer." Laura soon said that the operation to remove Ryan's kidney had gone well, and they were just about to start transplanting it into Dominic. "That's great news. Thanks."
Sam watched them all leave the waiting area to get Frankie checked out. He sighed a little, and sat back, looking at the ceiling. He couldn't believe how the day had turned out, now due to the stressful situation, Frankie was now being seen to by a doctor. Sam placed his hands up to his forehead, resting them there, just feeling exhausted from the crying, the worrying, and most of all having to wait for any answer about Dom. He felt the chair next to him move slightly, and Sam slowly moved his head up, and saw Tommy next to him.
Tommy asked him where Lianda and Frankie were, and Sam watched him eye off the door that lead to the operating theatre. He spoke again, and Sam shook his head. "No thanks. Couldn't really stomach anything right this minute. Lianda went with Frankie, as she wasn't feeling that great. I guess the stress and worry of it all might be playing havoc with her. Won't be good for her and the baby. The doc is checking her over now, they just left." Sam let out a breath, and then looked at Tommy again, "How are you holding up? How is everyone from the band?"

When Frankie had apologised to Sam if she was fussing over him too much she had added that she always seen her children as her babies regardless of their age and that it had included Sam. Sam thanked her and she just gave him a motherly smile.
When Sam had asked about Ryan and how he was taking it Frankie explained and when Sam replied saying that he understood and of the times he had spoken to Ryan he seemed as wonderful as Dom but that he would stick with Dom. Frankie gave Sam an understanding smile, “Well that’s good darling because I know Dominic thinks the absolute world of you and besides Ryan is straight.” Frankie said and gave a slight laugh as she nudged into Sam trying to lighten the mood despite the tragic events. “I’m sure you will be holding Dominic in your arms again soon enough.” Frankie added but inside she was dying and hoped what she said would be true. Dominic just needs to get through the operation and then maybe his superhuman ability will do the rest and get his strength back.
When Frankie had spoken to Lianda and she had replied Lianda watched as Sam turned to her and gave her a small smile. She then felt him take her hand and give it a gentle squeeze and she couldn’t do anything but to return that gesture to let Sam know she appreciated it and was there for him as much as he was there for her. It was nice to have another ‘brother’ around. With all the men in her life now, between all her brothers, her father, her husband and now Sam she felt like she was the most protected girl in the world.
When Frankie had given the mobile numbers to Sam for her husband and younger son she had said to Sam that he could try and contact them. Sam replied saying that he would try for her soon and all she could do was to give him a warm smile, “Thank you.” She replied and wondered if he would have more luck than she had when she had tried a couple of times earlier although she hadn’t thought about leaving a message, she just figured that it wasn’t the kind of message that her husband or son would like to hear.
When Sam had embraced Frankie in a bid to try and calm her down she had whispered into his ear and then Sam pulled out of the embrace slightly and she had to smile slightly at Sam’s reply saying that he was glad Dominic had found him too. Then he added that he wished he could have done more that afternoon Frankie gave him a small smile and through her tears she replied, “Don’t you be silly Sam darling, it was just a tragic accident and he’s getting all the help he needs now.” She hoped that Sam wasn’t blaming himself, because nobody but the person who had stabbed Dominic was to blame and she really did hope that they would be found and brought to justice.
Frankie had then taken very hot and got another pain in her abdomen and passed out after trying to tell Sam that she wasn’t feeling so good. She wasn’t aware what happened in the direct moments after the minor blackout but she had soon came round and saw Sam watching her with obvious concern. She gave him a weak smile and patted his hand. Frankie had then began to protest but gave in knowing that getting herself and the baby checked would be for the best as she didn’t want to lose Dominic and Sam’s child. Lianda had then said she would go with her mom and Sam nodded and then she had made a comment about Tommy hopefully being back soon anyway. Sam replied saying he couldn’t see him being too much longer and Lianda gave him a weak smile through her tears as now she was upset and worried for her brother as well as her mother.
When Laura had told Sam that the operation on Ryan had gone well and that they were about to start transplanting it into Dominic, Sam had replied saying thanks and adding that it was great news. Laura gave him a small smile, “You’re welcome and I will make sure I keep you updated as much as I can or get a nurse to do it for me.” With that Laura made her way back into the operation theatres to get the remainder of the operation carried out on Dominic before it would be too late.

The fact that Sam was on his own as Tommy returned hadn’t gone unnoticed by Tommy and he soon asked Sam where Lianda and Mrs S had gone. But before getting any sort of response from him he had then asked Sam if he could get him a coffee even though the stuff from the machines was pretty shit. Sam soon answered him, although saying no to the coffee first adding that he couldn’t really stomach anything right then. Tommy could understand that as he hadn’t had much either since the terrible ordeal. Sam then spoke some more telling him that Lianda had gone with Frankie as she hadn’t been feeling too great. Tommy raised his eyebrow a little as he continued to listen to Sam as it didn’t sound too good. When Sam had finished speaking Tommy gave him a weak smile and put his hand on Sam’s arm and squeezed it gently. “No worries about the coffee mate, but if ya feel like something later, you’ll say to me right? And damn I’m real sorry to hear that about Mrs S, I sure hope she’s gonna be alright. I mean haven’t they gone through enough shit already?” Tommy said as he sighed deeply and looked up at the ceiling wondering why if there was such a thing as a god why they were causing this family so much grief right now. “Ya know the Salvatore family are made of strong stuff, so I’m pretty sure that Mrs S will be just fine ya know.” Tommy replied and squeezed at Sam’s arm a little again. Tommy then saw Sam look at him and then asked how he was holding up and how was everyone in the band. Tommy let out a deep sigh and ran his hand through his hair messily not giving a damn about how he looked right then. Tommy began to speak saying, “Seriously wanna know? Ain’t so good mate, Dom’s like one of my best mates ya know and I can’t think of him well ya know, not recovering, I swear to god, I just wanna fucking smash that Simon’s face in but I know it wouldn’t really do any good. The guys from the band are as messed up over it as I am. They ain’t back from Hawaii yet which ain’t helping but they all agreed to get a massive bouquet of flowers sent in the hope that he’ll recover soon. We know how much Dom takes pride in his garden so I’m sure he’d love to see the flowers when he comes round and he will come round.” Tommy said as he gave Sam another weak smile and once again squeezed Sam’s arm gently. Tommy had leant his head back just thinking about some things when the small silence was broken by a voice. Tommy looked up and saw a nurse however the nurse seemed to be looking at Sam rather than Tommy. “Hi there, I just wanted to give you an update on your mom. What the doctor had predicted was right. Her blood pressure is elevated to a level we can class as potentially dangerous to an unborn child. We understand that it’s due to the current situation with your partner and we’re doing what we can to bring the blood pressure down with some medication that is harmless to the child and telling her to rest and to try and not worry. Already we can see a difference, so if it continues then she should be allowed back home. We’ve carried out an ultrasound and the foetus seems just fine so there is nothing to worry about there.” The nurse explained referring to Frankie as Sam’s mom because Frankie had told her to tell her son the news. “I will keep you updated if there is any change.” With that the nurse left again. Tommy turned to Sam and gave him a small smile, “Well that sounds promising mate, I told ya the Salvatore family were a tough lot.” He gave Sam’s arm another gentle squeeze and wondered if they would soon hear anything more about Dominic and how the operation was going. He began to run both his hands through his hair feeling as if it was taking forever when in actual fact it had probably only been just over an hour as he hadn’t been gone long when he had left the hospital earlier. He was shattered though and as he leaned his head back he could feel his eyes beginning to close. **** 1 ½ hours later **** Tommy didn’t realise that he had actually fallen into a sleep; he had just meant to close his eyes as they had been on fire. Turns out he had slept for about an hour and a half and just as he began to rub at his eyes he saw the room to the operating theatre open up and the doctor that had greeted them when they first arrived approached him and Sam. “I just want to let you know that the kidney has been successfully transplanted into Dominic now and so far the vitals are beginning to get stronger and look good. We are also in the process of giving him a blood transfusion for the amount of blood that he has lost and I can imagine that he will be unconscious for a little while yet but Ryan is now beginning to regain consciousness and has already been moved to a room and you can go and speak to him anytime you like. We will be moving Dominic to a room soon also and once he is settled you can go in and see him but obviously be prepared for the fact that he might take a while to wake up as the next twenty four hours will be critical as we have to make sure that the kidney isn’t rejected but with Ryan being a perfect match I see no reason why that would happen.” Laura put her hand on Sam’s shoulder. “I will let you know once you can see Dominic.” She added and then went back into the operating room obviously getting ready to move Dominic to a room where he and Sam could finally go and see him and see how he was doing. Tommy turned to Sam and gave him a weak smile, “Sounds like Dom might pull through too, like I said to ya earlier mate, the Salvatore family are made of tough stuff.”

Frankie commented on what Sam said about Dom and Ryan, and what she said about Dom made him smile at her. He loved Dom so much, that he never wanted to be with anyone else. Hearing Frankie add at the end that Ryan was straight, Sam kind of chuckled a little, and nodded. "Well if I was straight I would have dated him." He kind of wanted to lighten the mood slightly, but definately understood what was being said. When Frankie made the comment about Sam holding Dominic in his arms soon enough made Sam sigh. He wanted to say 'I hope so' but that wasn't how he should be thinking. He knew that he would hold Dom in his arms again. Sam didn't mean to say what he did, but he felt that he should have been able to do more for his lover. Frankie soon set him straight, and Sam nodded, knowing what she was saying was right. He just hoped that Dom would pull through, and then he could see his lover again, hopefully recovering well after this ordeal. Sam did then wonder how long it would take for Dom to get fully well after it all, and knew that maybe he might have to tell the high school that he was going to have to take some time away to look after his partner. Tommy soon replied to what Sam had said, dismissing the coffee thing, which was fine. Sam then listened to what was said about Frankie, and the fact that hadn't the family gone through enough already. Sam nodded, "I know. I have been thinking the same thing." It was just like they were getting hit with one thing after another. Tommy then made a comment about the Salvatore family being made of strong stuff. "I agree. Just knowing how Dom is, makes me realise that they are all just the same, if that makes sense." He felt Tommy squeeze at his arm a little, and Sam gave him a bit of a smile, glad that he wasn't alone in the waiting area now. Sam wondered if he should have asked Tommy how he was holding up, along with the rest of the band. He bit on his lower lip slightly, letting it slip through his teeth, and then heard Tommy speak. Hearing how he saw Dom made Sam swallow back a lump in his throat. Then Tommy mentioned about what he wanted to do to Simon, and Sam felt like he didn't want to hear that name ever again. Tommy then spoke of the band members who were still in Hawaii, and Sam raised his eyebrows, wondering when they might get here. The mention of the flowers, then knowing how much Dom takes pride in his garden, made Sam nod his head. "Sorry to hear they get here, but hopefully soon. And yes the flowers will definately be received well, and I believe he will come around." Sam gave Tommy a small smile, hoping that to be true, as he just wanted to see Dom alive and well. Sam then lent his elbows on his knees, and rested his chin in his hands, just staring at the wall. At that moment a nurse came over to Sam and Tommy, and Sam sat up to hear what she had to say, wondering if it was about Dom, or Frankie. He soon found out that it was Frankie, and hearing her say 'your mom', Sam went to correct her, but decided to forget it, as he was pretty much her son. Hearing that what they were doing was making a different made him feel relieved, and nodded in acknowledgement. Hearing the rest just made him relax a little about Frankie's current situation. He was so glad that the baby was fine too, which was something else that he had been worried about. If anything had happened, he wondered if Bethany in the future would have existed. "Thank you." The nurse left them alone, and Tommy commented on what the nurse said, then spoke again about the Salvatore family being a tough lot. "I know. Don't know what have happened if something had happened to Frankie or the baby for that matter. Good thing she is resting up, but I am sure they are keeping her informed on whatever is happening with Dom and Ryan." Sam watched Tommy lean his head back, and saw his eyes starting to close. Sam knew what Tommy was probably feeling, as he was exhausted, but not that hungry. The thought of food at a time like this just made him feel sick. He would eat when he knew that Dom was okay. Seeing that Tommy might doze off, Sam slowly got up, and walked over to a lounge near the chairs, and laid down, and soon felt asleep. **** 1 1/2 hours later **** Sam had slept for an hour, before he jolted awake in the lounge. He almost forgot where he was, till he saw that he was in the hospital waiting room. Then the feeling of why he was there started to make him feel unwell again. He tried to go back to sleep, but kept tossing and turning, so got up and walked around. Sam took Tommy's advice about the coffee, and got one. It tasted okay, but he had had better. Halfway through it, he just chucked the rest in the bin next to the coffee machine. Sam finally sat back down next to Tommy, and then as he looked up, the operating threatre dooes opened up. Laura approached them both, then told them how everything went. Hearing that the transplant had been successful, Sam just sighed loudly, and rested his head on Tommy's shoulder for a few seconds, just relieved to hear that. He sat up again, and just took a hold of Tommy's hand, more for support than anything else. Laura finished up what she wanted to say, and put a hand on Sam's shoulder, which he felt, but no words could be said. She then said that she would let them know when they could see Dom. With that, Sam let go of Tommy's hand and got up, wrapping his arms around Laura. He felt the tears begin to fall, "Thank you so much for all you did so far." He pulled away, nodding at Laura, then sat back down. Once Laura left, Sam sat back in the chair, and just placed his hands over his face, crying tears of happiness for the fact that the operation went well. After a moment, he composed himself, and wiped at his eyes. Tommy soon commented about Dom, and again mentione dabout the Salvatore family being made of tough stuff. "I have being thinkiing a lot of good thoughts about Dom, and I know. Frankie seems to be doing okay, and now Dom. I am just... just..." Sam just broke down then, wrapping his arms around Tommy. "I am just so glad that Dom is going to be okay."

When Tommy had made his comment about the Salvatore family being through enough already he had to give Sam a weak smile as he replied saying that he had just been thinking the same thing. Then Tommy had added that the Salvatore family were made of strong stuff and again he gave Sam a weak smile when he replied saying that he agreed and knowing how he sees Dom that they are all the same asking if it made sense. Tommy nodded his head, “It does make sense mate.” He replied as he knew that how one person was in a family could often be a sign of how all the family members would be. Tommy had then given Sam’s arm a bit of a squeeze and he got a smile from Sam, which made Tommy smile back at him. Tommy was glad that Dominic had such a supportive partner and Tommy thought Sam was perfect for Dominic and he was glad that he could now class Sam as a friend to him too. Sam had then asked how Tommy was holding up and he told him exactly how he was feeling and throwing a little curse word in there with regards to he who shall not be named. Tommy had then gone on to say how the band had taken it and how they had agreed to get a bouquet of flowers sent to him and Sam soon responded to that. “Well they were booked on a set flight Sam mate, hadn’t expected for things to end so abruptly, like we were all gonna go partying after it, but then well, ya know. Anyway they tried to on an earlier flight but they couldn’t get it changed. So yeah they’ll be here the soon as they can be.” Tommy explained with regards to the band and dancers and then Tommy continued, “Yeah we reckoned the flowers would have gone down well and you’re right he will come around, not a case of if, it’s a case of when.” Tommy was trying to be as positive as he could be but inside he was just as scared about Dominic not surviving. A nurse had then come along but more or less directed what she was saying to Sam but the news seemed to be good about Mrs S which pleased Tommy. He watched Sam nod his head in acknowledgement and then thanked the nurse who had then walked away. Tommy had then spoken to Sam saying that it sounded promising and that he had told him the Salvatore family were a tough lot. Sam soon replied agreeing adding that he didn’t know what would have happened if anything had happened to Frankie or the baby and then said that it was a good thing she was resting up and that she would probably be getting kept informed of how Dom and Ryan were doing. “Yeah mate, I reckon they will be keeping her informed in a way that hopefully won’t get her anymore stressed than she obviously already is.” Tommy had then leant his head back feeling so exhausted with everything but still wanting to be there for Sam and to be there when Dominic finally came round. **** 1 ½ hours later **** After sleeping for longer than he had intended as he had just wanted to rest his eyes, he and Sam were soon approached by Doctor Innes who then gave them an update on the situation which was a good one in Tommy’s eyes. He heard the sigh from Sam and soon felt his head rest on his shoulder and Tommy put his hand up onto Sam’s arm giving him a small hug. Then he felt Sam move and soon he had taken Tommy’s hand which he didn’t object to as he had taken Sam’s hand before in the helicopter, it was just something you did in times like this to support each other. When Laura said that she would let them know when they could see Dominic, Tommy watched Sam get up letting go of his hand and hugging the doctor. Even for a tough guy like Tommy watching that scene caused a tear to fall from his eye which he quickly wiped away, not that it made much difference as another few began to fall. Ah fuck it he thought, so I ain’t that tough after all. Laura put her hand on Sam’s back and patted it gently as he hugged her and thanking her. “You’re welcome Sam and it’s what we do, I told you I seldom lose patients and I wasn’t about to lose the best pop star to come out of American Idol.” She winked at him with a smile as Sam pulled away from the hug. Before Laura left however Tommy went up and took her hand and kissed the back of it, being a bit of a charmer, “Thanks. Dominic is like one of my best mates and I have to say I was worried.” Laura gave him a smile. “Like I said to Sam, you’re welcome.” Tommy then sat back down again and sniffed a few times as he tried to stop the involuntary tears from falling. Tommy soon saw that Sam was crying but it would seem to him that these tears were different, probably of sheer happiness. However Tommy put his hand on Sam’s back and patted it a few times. When Sam was more composed Tommy spoke again about it looking like Dom was going to pull through and how once again that the Salvatore family were tough. Hearing what Sam was saying Tommy nodded his head, “Positive thoughts are good energy mate.” He said wondering where the hippy talk was coming from suddenly but shrugged it off mentally and then Sam tried to finish a sentence but couldn’t and Tommy soon felt Sam’s arms around him hugging him. Tommy didn’t hesitate to put his arms around Sam and patted at his back gently again. “I know Sam mate, it’s the best news and I’m glad too, I can’t wait until we can go in and see him, but I’ll probably not spend too much time so the both of ya can have time together.” Tommy patted at Sam’s back a few more times until he felt as if Sam was a little more composed and then he pulled out of the embrace slightly but keeping one arm around Sam’s shoulder. “I was thinking since Laura said it was alright to go and see Ryan if ya wanted to go and do that? I wouldn’t mind going in to see him to thank him for helping my best mate ya know?” He waited for Sam to respond and then stood up, “Just going to find out which room he’s in, back in a second mate.” Tommy said and then popped out and knocked on the operating room doors and soon enough it was opened by Laura with a smile. “Can I help you?” Tommy smiled back, “Yeah, can ya tell me what room Ryan’s in so we can go and talk to him please?” Laura nodded her head, “Of course, he’s in room number one hundred and six. If you take the lift to the second floor and ask the staff there they’ll take you to the room.” Tommy nodded his head and gave her another smile, “Thanks.” He then made his way back into the waiting room, “Alright, ya good to go? I have the room number, gotta take the lift to the second floor and was told one of the staff there will lead us to the room.” He waited for Sam to answer and get up and then made his way to the door and toward the elevator and soon had the both of them on the second floor. He went to the nurses’ station, “Hi there, can ya show us to room number one hundred and six please?” The nurse behind the desk began to fan herself a little and then couldn’t help but say, “Oh my god, you’re Tommy Joe Merlotte, you play bass guitar for Dominic, I just love you.” Tommy gave a little laugh, “Thanks, I’m sure ya love Dominic more, so the room?” Tommy pressed not that he wanted to be ignorant he just wanted to get Sam and himself to Ryan so he could talk to him. The nurse bit on her lip slightly and nodded, “Sorry, just follow me.” They didn’t appear to be walking for long when the nurse stopped, “This is the room you want.” She gave them both a smile and then made her way back to the nurses’ station. Tommy turned to Sam and gave him a smile, knocked the door and then opened it to find that Lianda was already in there talking to her brother. “Hey Ryan mate, we just wanted to see how ya were doing, and I just want to thank ya for what ya did to save my best mate.”

The soon as Ryan had heard about his twin Dominic he was naturally devastated. He had only just gotten reunited with his blood family and now there was the idea that he might lose his twin before really getting to know him on a personal level. He was even more pissed off when he found out from Tommy who had stabbed Dominic knowing fine well who Simon was because one of the first things that Dominic had confided in him with was the fact that he had been raped by his ex partner. Ryan had been distraught, wishing that he had been in Dominic’s life back then as he knew he would have been there for his twin and most likely have knocked lumps out of Simon for his efforts. In fact it was still in the back of his mind to knock lumps out of him if he ever got his hands on him.
So when Ryan found out that he could be the perfect match for Dominic to get a kidney transplant he hadn’t needed to think about it, saying immediately that he would do it and they were to test him. So he had gotten to the hospital and got the tests carried out which proved that he was indeed a perfect match and once they were made aware of Dominic’s arrival at the hospital they began to prep Ryan for the surgery. He didn’t know how long he had been out for but he knew that it would probably have been around an hour and a half to possibly two hours. He was soon moved to a room to recuperate from the operation and was told that as long as his vitals remained strong that there would be no reason why he couldn’t be discharged within forty eight hours providing he didn’t do any hard work.
He had gotten in touch with his assistants at the garage and explained what had happened and that they would have to manage the jobs without him for a couple of weeks until he was given the all clear by the hospital to continue with his duties. They were only too pleased to help. So, now Ryan was just flicking through the television channels when the door was knocked and then opened and he saw the beautiful sight of his sister Lianda. As he looked at her he still found it hard to believe that he had this huge family that he had never known and been kept from his whole life, in many ways he was still bitter about it and figured that he always would be. He switched the television off as there wasn’t anything that was grabbing his attention anyway. He gave her a smile and began to speak to her, “Hey sis, how you holding up? Have you heard anything on how Dominic is doing? How’s mom?” He asked her, finding it very easy to refer to Lianda as his sister and Frankie as his mom already, after being reunited with them it was as if he had always been a part of the family apart from the fact his surname was Anderson but he might just have to do something about that soon enough.
Lianda made her way over and sat on the edge of the bed, “I’m alright Ry, and you know I still think it’s awesome that I named my boy Ryan without knowing I had a brother with the same name.” Ryan loved when Lianda had told him that and he chuckled hearing her talk about it again. “I haven’t heard anything about Dom, but mom took a funny turn and had to be taken away to be checked, but things are going back to normal and the baby is okay. She had fallen asleep so thought I’d come see my big brother.” Lianda said and gave him a smile. “Well I’m good, but I’ll be much better when we hear that Dominic is fine.” Ryan said and then there was another knock at the door and Ryan was soon faced with Dominic’s band member and good friend Tommy and Dominic’s partner Sam. Ryan gave the both of them a warm smile. He just knew that when Sam and Dom married that he would love having Sam as another brother.
“Hi guys, come on in.” Ryan said and once they had come into the room and took a seat he answered Tommy. “Yeah, am alright, a bit sore, and have to not laugh too much for obvious reasons, but I guess I’m a whole lot better than my brother right now.” Ryan answered and thought about Simon again for a minute, he had better not show his face here because if he did and Ryan saw him, hospital bed and drip or not, he’d fly for him. Ryan then went back to the other thing Tommy had said, “It was nothing, there was no way I could let Dominic die if I could help, I wanted to get to know my twin on a more personal level you know?” Ryan answered and then he turned to Sam, “So how you doing Sam, how you holding up? I know that it was probably as tough if not tougher on you than it was on any of us.”
Just then there was another knock on the door and the only other person it could be he thought other than Dominic and it couldn’t be him was his mom but she was supposed to be resting, unless it was a nurse of course. However when the door was opened it was a couple of police. Ryan raised his eyebrows wondering if they had caught Simon. However they seemed to be looking at Lianda. “Lianda Salvatore?” They asked and Lianda nodded her head wondering why the police wanted to speak to her. “Yes, I’m Lianda Salvatore, can I help you?” She asked, and the lady officer approached her and put her hand on Lianda’s shoulder lightly. “I’m afraid to have to tell you that we believe that your husband was involved in a car accident on his way to the hospital here, I’m afraid he was killed instantly. And I am terribly sorry to ask this of you but we will have to get you to identify the body.”
Lianda was sure she hadn’t heard right, her head was swimming. First her brother Dominic, then her mother taking ill and now this. Why was all this happening to them today? Ryan put his hand out and touched the small of Lianda’s back gently, “Sis, did you hear them?” He asked softly although he knew it would be a silly question and then Lianda just collapsed into him and all he could do was wrap his non dripped arm around her as she sobbed. “She’ll identify the body, but you just need to give her some time.” Ryan said and the officer nodded her head, “I understand I will just be outside.” The soon as they had left, with Lianda still in a crumpled heap sobbing her heart out Ryan could feel his emotions getting the better of him.
“This is one god awful day, what else can possibly go fucking wrong?” He asked as he looked from Sam to Tommy and then back to Sam.

Sam listened as Tommy spoke more about the rest of the band, and what was meant to happen after the concert, and that they would be here as soon as they can. "Oh, okay then. I am sure Dom will be glad to see them when he wakes up." When Tommy commented more on the flowers, Sam smiled a little, hoping he might do more of that after he saw Dom after the operation. The last thing Tommy said made him nod. Sam just hoped that it would be sooner then later for Dom to wake up after the operation. He just wanted to see his beautiful eyes again. **** 1 1/2 hours later **** After Sam had hugged Laura, thanking her, she put a hand on his back, and patted it gently. He nodded when she spoke, and hearing her say that she wasn't going to lose the best pop star to come out of American Idol, it made him smile a little for a couple of seconds. Sam moved out of the hug, and then sat back down. He watched through watering eyes Tommy get up and thanked Laura. As Tommy made his way back to the chair, Sam had began to cry in his hands, just feeling relieved about everything. After a few moments, Sam calmed down somewhat, and Tommy and himself exchanged words. Sam nodded when Tommy said positive thoughts are good energy. He knew that too well, and had been glad to think like that, despite having it in the back of his mind about what might happen. Sam had tried to talk, but couldn't, and ended up just hugging Tommy, finally getting out what he wanted to say. Hearing Tommy's words to him just made him cry all the more, with happiness obviously. Sam finally calmed down, and wiped his eyes as he moved from Tommy. He was glad that Dom had such a great friend in Tommy, and was glad for the support right now. Tommy then mentioned seeing Ryan, which Sam thought was a good idea, nodding at what he said. "Sounds good." Tommy then said that he was going to see which room he was in, which Sam nodded at. When Tommy left, Sam wiped some more at his eyes, hoping that he might look okay when he went to see Ryan. He quickly got up, and headed towards the water bubbler where you could get a drink. He got a handful of water, and splashed a little on his face. Sam then retrieved a tissue that Frankie had given him and wiped the water away, hoping his eyes weren't too red now. When Tommy game back, just as Sam was making his way back to the seat, though hadn't gotten to sit down. Tommy asked if he was good to go, adding that he had the room number, and mentioning where they had to go to get to Ryan's room. Sam nodded, "All good." He shoved his hands in his pockets and followed Tommy to the elevator, and they were soon on the floor they needed. Tommy asked where Ryan's room was located, but that was all he got to ask as the nurse recognised him. Sam was used to Dom getting recognised, so it should have been the same, but with the current situation, Sam just wanted to get where they wanted to go, no small talk, unless it was information on Ryan or Dom, or even Frankie. Soon Tommy asked about the room, and they were soon led to the room after a very short walk. Sam smiled a little at the nurse, and then gave one a little bit to Tommy, as he knocked on the door. Sam followed as the door opened, and heard what Tommy had to say to Ryan. He saw Ryan smile at them, and Sam smiled back a bit more, though would be smiling more when he knew that Dom was going to be fully okay. Sam saw a seat, and sat down on it, and listened to what Ryan had to say to Tommy. Sam nodded at that was said, unstanding it all. Hearing Ryan then say 'it was nothing' in regards to helping Dom out, made Sam swallow a little bit. Once Ryan finished talking, Sam spoke up. "I don't see it as nothing Ryan." Ryan then spoke directly to Sam, "I think it is all the same for all of us. He is your family, but I guess I am with him on a different level. Starting to feel a bit better, much better than I have been over the past few hours. I know I will have to eat something soon though. Can't really remember the last time I ate." Sam felt himself just slump in the chair, thinking about Dom, hoping that he would be able to have visitors soon. He just wanted to be there beside his bed, holding his hand till he woke up. Then the knock at the door kind of startled him a little, and as he saw Police head on through, he frowned a little, wondering if they were in the right room or something. When they asked for Lianda, Sam turned to look at her, wondering why they wanted her for. Then as they spoke, his hand flew to his mouth, gasping to what was being said. The sound of Ryan's voice, asking Lianda if she heard them, made Sam eye her off again, and watched her just collapse into Ryan. Sam lent forward, resting his elbows on his knees, and ran his hands through his hair, but stopped, leaving his hands in his hair. He stared at the floor, and just couldn't believe what was just said. It seemed that every member of this wonderful family was being hit with unbelievable news right now. Sam then sat up in the chair, not hearing what Ryan was saying to the police, and moved over to Lianda, moving his arms around her in an embrace. For some odd reason he felt like he had to be strong for her now, like he was truly her big brother. He whispered to her, "We are here for you Li, okay?" Sam then felt tears begin to sting then fall from his eyes.

**** 1 ½ hours later **** When Tommy suggested going to see Ryan because Tommy wanted to thank him for doing what he did to help save his best mate he was glad when Sam said it sounded good and he gave him a small smile knowing that Sam would probably rather see Dominic, but that wouldn’t happen until they were told they could see him. Tommy had then gone to find out which room Ryan was in and was soon back letting Sam know and asking if he was good to go. Sam soon replied saying he was all good. Tommy gave him a smile and nodded his head, “Let’s go then.” He replied and led the way out of the waiting room and to the elevator. After Tommy got a bit snappy with the nurse he turned to Sam, “I usually don’t mind getting recognised ya know but it just ain’t the time or place for it.” He said as if he was trying to explain away his behaviour to the nurse to Sam. He had a feeling that Sam wouldn’t have been in the mood for celebrity talk right then but he also didn’t want Sam to think that he was that much of an ignorant bastard either. They were soon at the room and Tommy knocked on the door once before opening it. Tommy soon asked how Ryan was and thanked him for saving Dominic. Ryan soon answered saying that he was a bit sore and he wasn’t to laugh for obvious reasons but guessed he was better than his brother was right then. Tommy nodded his head and gave Ryan a smile, “Yeah I reckon so but glad ya ain’t too bad.” Ryan then answered saying that it was nothing to save Dominic adding that he couldn’t let Dominic die if he could help. Tommy was going to say that saving Dominic’s life was a big thing but Sam beat him to it and Tommy didn’t see the need to repeat it. “Well I reckon you’re a bit of a hero mate.” Tommy said instead. Ryan then asked Sam how he was holding up and Sam soon answered Ryan and when he heard Sam mention about having had nothing to eat so far Tommy put his hand on Sam’s shoulder. “Ya know mate ya might be best getting yourself something to eat soon, ya don’t wanna be feeling too sick when it comes to seeing Dominic later.” Tommy said giving him a small smile hoping that Sam would understand what he meant as he didn’t want Sam to be too weak and exhausted to be able to face Dominic. Then there was a knock at the door and a lady police officer came in with a partner and started asking for Lianda. Tommy could only raise his eyebrow wondering what was about to happen and wondering why they were asking for Dom’s little sister. However it was soon revealed and Tommy put his hand up to his head and pulled at his hair slightly not being able to believe what he had just heard the woman say to Lianda. It was like living in a nightmare right now. Lianda couldn’t even say anything and just slumped onto Ryan obviously devastated. Ryan had then asked what else could go fucking wrong as he looked from Sam to him and back to Sam. Tommy suddenly felt like he was now out of his comfort zone. Yeah he wanted to be there for Sam and for Dom but he didn’t know Dom’s sister enough and as he watched Sam become strong enough to console Lianda he figured it was time that he should go and update the rest of Dom’s entourage on his condition. “I, uhm, ya know, I think I’m gonna go and call the guys and give them an update on Dom’s situation, I’m really glad you’re doing good Ryan mate.” He said and then he made his way over to where Sam was consoling Lianda. “I ain’t leaving or anything mate, just gonna go make some calls, so I’ll probably catch ya in a bit as I wouldn’t mind getting in to see Dominic even if it’s just for a few minutes.” He then stepped out of the room letting out a low whistle thinking that it was such a shit day so far and made his way to the telephones and then figured he might go to the hospital cafeteria and get something to eat and drink until he heard that they could go and see Dominic. {ooc - and Tommy out again for a little while}

After Ryan had told Sam and Tommy to come on in and given them a smile he soon saw Sam smile some more at him. He watched Sam take a seat and then Ryan answered Tommy’s question about how he was feeling. When Tommy said he was glad that he wasn’t too bad Ryan gave him a small smile before answering, “That makes both of us but I’ll feel heaps better when I hear that it worked.” Ryan meant that he wanted to hear that Dominic’s body hadn’t rejected the kidney even though he was told with it being a perfect match that rejection was highly unlikely. When Ryan had added that it was nothing to save Dominic he soon heard Sam speak up and he told him that he didn’t see it as nothing. Then Tommy added that he saw him as a bit of a hero. Ryan could feel his face begin to flush slightly, “Thanks guys.” He then looked at Sam, “And I guess saving Dominic isn’t nothing, but I just meant that it wasn’t something I had to think about you know?” Ryan answered giving Sam a bit of a smile.
Ryan had then directed a question at Sam asking how he was doing and how he was holding up adding that it was probably as tough if not tougher on him than any of them. Sam soon answered saying that he figured they were all suffering the same and Ryan nodded his head slightly having to agree that maybe Sam was right. They were family but Sam was family too, well he knew that the Salvatore’s saw it that way and Sam had been in their life longer than he had. “I can understand what you’re saying Sam but you are family too you know and you’ve been in their lives now longer than I have.” Sam then went on to say that he was feeling much better than he had a few hours earlier which was understandable as a few hours ago Dominic was very close to death where as now he was climbing back to health slowly. When Sam then spoke about having had nothing to eat he was going to say something but Tommy spoke up and Ryan nodded his head a little, “I think I have to agree with Tommy.”
Ryan then watched as Sam more or less slumped in the chair and he couldn’t help but think that he must be exhausted with everything. Then there was a knock at the door and a couple of police officers entered asking after Lianda. Once it was known why they were there Ryan couldn’t quite believe it although he wasn’t overly familiar with Lianda’s husband as they had only been introduced once. Ryan had made more of an effort to get to know his blood family first, as in his parents and siblings but he still felt shocked and very upset for his sister. She was only twenty four, it was too young an age to lose your husband. It was as if Lianda didn’t hear anything that was being said to her as she had collapsed into him. It was a bit difficult to console her with being in the bed and having an arm attached to a drip but he put his free arm around her anyway and then told the lady officer she’d identify the body soon. They were then left alone.
In a way Ryan was grateful for Sam moving to comfort Lianda, because he felt that there was little he could do with his current situation. He watched as Lianda moved and put her arms around Sam leaning her head on his shoulder and still crying. Then Tommy spoke up saying that he was going to go and make a few phone calls to give the guys an update on Dominic’s condition. “Alright Tommy, thanks for being there for Sam and for Dominic. I am sure he’ll be happy to see you even for a few moments once he can get visitors.” Ryan answered and then watched Tommy walk out of the room. Ryan fell back onto the bed just staring at the ceiling. So why did it happen? Why was Lianda’s husband taken from them? Ryan wasn’t Christian as such but he believed in God, and as he looked up he found himself saying out loud, “Why did you do it? Why did you take Tony away from us? Did the fact that Dominic not die annoy you that you had to take another member of this family instead?” No sooner were the words out he felt a tear escape, feeling his emotions get the better of him and then the door to the room was opened again and it was a nurse.
She made her way over toward Ryan, “I just want to check your vitals, and I am very sorry to hear about your brother in law’s death.” She said and Ryan just sighed deeply and gave a nod of his head slightly in acknowledgment. Lianda shifted out of the embrace she was in with Sam slightly and looked at him, “I think I’m ready to identify the body, but I don’t think I can do it alone.” She sniffed a few tears back but before anybody could say anything to her the nurse spoke again. “Your vitals are looking strong Ryan and you’re recovering from the operation well. We might be able to remove the drip soon, but not quite yet.” Ryan then sat up slightly, “I want to go with my sister for support when she identifies the body.” It wasn’t as much a question as more of a demand. The nurse shook her head, “I’m sorry Ryan but I couldn’t allow for that to happen, you could burst your stitches with movement, you should really rest, you went through a complex operation, just because you still have one kidney doesn’t mean you can go jumping about.”
Ryan let out a frustrated sigh and then sat forward a little more, “You aren’t hearing me, I’m not asking to go I’m telling you I am going. You can’t stop me. I am pretty sure you can get an orderly in here with a wheelchair and get him to take me with her.” He said and then gave her a sympathetic smile as he looked toward his sister. Then Lianda spoke up, “Ry, it’s okay, Sam can come with me, can’t you Sam?” She asked as she didn’t want Ryan to hurt himself. But she saw Ryan shake his head, “I want to come along too sis, okay?” He said and she just bit on her bottom lip slightly knowing that like Dominic it was very hard to say no to Ryan. The nurse let out a sigh this time, “Fine, I will get an orderly to take you but you are to be on your best behaviour Mr. Anderson.” She said as she left the room to get an orderly to take Ryan down to the hospital morgue.
{ooc - was going to bring in someone else but I will wait until the next round}
