22nd November 2008 - Wedding ReceptionThe Wedding Cake. ![](http://i36.tinypic.com/1235hlt.jpg) After the meal and speeches were over it was time for Claire and Sam to cut the cake, and then to go to the dancefloor and do their first dance as husband and wife. Claire couldn't wait. It was such romantic tender moments for both her and Sam, and Claire knew in a heartbeat this would be a day she would never forget. As the Wedding Planner Shannon announced for them to make their way to the table to cut the cake, Claire grinned and took Sam's hand. She walked over toward the table and picked up the knife. Sam would of course then put his hand on top of hers and together they would slice the bottom of the cake. Once they had both cut the cake, and got a cheer from the crowd the Wedding Planner Shannon then announced for them to lead the rest of the Bridal Party into the first dance. Claire and Sam had chosen Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler for their first dance song. Claire held out her hand for Sam to take, so he could sweep her onto the dancefloor. "I love you Sam Norton" Claire said as she smiled, feeling the happiest she had in a very long time.

Carla had enjoyed the meal and speeches, and now they were getting to the best part. The Wedding Planner had announced for Sam and Claire to cut the cake. Carla watched them do it, it was such a cute thing to see. They both looked so happy together. It made Carla wonder if she and Bruce would ever be that happy together.
After they cut the cake the Wedding Planner announced that Claire and Sam would lead the Bridal Party into a dance. So knowing that she and Bruce would be next to dance following Claire and Sam, she held out her hand for Bruce to take. She was grinning from ear to ear.
The whole romance of the situation made Carla feel all the love she had for Bruce come to the fore.
"I love you Bruce Adams" she said as she waited to join in the dance Sam and Claire had already started before them.

He walked into the reception, looking around at the many things. There was a lot of tables, chairs, a dance floor. A giant cake. When did we order a cake that big?
After the speeches where over, and the cake had been cut, it was time for the dance. He walked over to her, dragging her onto the dancefloor, "Wind Beneath My Wings by Bette Midler" playing as they danced. Personally, he didn't like the song, but Claire did, and today, it didn't really bother him.
"I love you too, Claire Norton" He said to her, smiling that they had the same last name now. He loved that.

Henry was excited about this reception. He just loved parties. Well, mostly ones with a lot of girls. Yup, he sure did like hanging out at parties with girls. This was no exception. He scanned the room for potential single girls. Although, there didn't look to be any single girls at the moment. Who was he kidding, this was a wedding. There were bound to be some single girls here.
He was still stuffing his face when the Wedding Planner announced the couple's first dance. His brother smacked him upside the head playfully. "What?" Henry said through a mouthful of food. "I'm hungry. Ya can't stop me from eating can you?" A glare sent his way said other wise. Henry placed his fork on his plate. "Fine."
As the couple dance, Henry got out of his seat. If there was a time to find a lonely girl, now would be a perfect time. The girls always crowded around the first dance. He found a girl watching the dance a grinned. Perfect. He strolled up to her and pulled out the charm. "Hey. How you enjoying the festivities? By any chance you related to the bride? Cause you look just as dazzling" she smiled back at him. This was perfect.

As Sam and Claire cut the cake, Bruce watched the excitement on Carla's face. She seemed more excited then he had ever seen her, Bruce didn't know why, but Carla seemed more excited then the Bride and Groom.
Then, it was time for the dancing. Bruce hated dancing. But of course, as the best man, he had to do it. He and Carla had had lessons with a teacher just for this occasion, and now, he was shit scared he was going to muck up, right in front of everyone.
"I love you too, Carla Norton" He said, pulling her onto the dancefloor, her resting her head on his shoulder as they danced.
"So" He said to her. "Will you be this excited on our big day, Carla" He said, grinning.

Claire was so happy. She was definitely the happiest she had been in a long time. She was so happy to be Claire Norton, it sounded good, and she knew Sam was elated by it. All too soon the first dance was over with, and Claire ended it with kissing him, she didn't care how many of her family or friends saw it, she was in love with Sam Norton and she wanted to show it, so she kissed him and she kissed him with a lot of passion.
Then the Wedding Planner Shannon made another announcement.
"Ladies it is time for the Bride to throw her bouquet, and with that, I have nothing else to do, so I shall bid you all a good night and enjoy the rest of this wonderful party"
Claire broke away from Sam's lips gently, "I should do this, of course I should" she said, as she grinned and lifted up the bouquet from her place at the top table where she had left it.
"Ready girls?" she shouted, she hoped Carla would catch the bouquet, it would be so funny if she did. With that, Claire put her back to the crowd of girls and threw it in the air backward and then she turned around as she saw a group of girls lunging for the bouquet.
Wait a minute, did she recognise that short haired guy who somehow managed to get in the center of the girls. Then she began to laugh, as she held her hand up to her mouth. It was Henry, he had been caught in the fire of all the running and screaming girls reaching for her bouquet.
"I'm sorry Henry" she shouted, but really she couldn't help it, it was so funny, she just hoped Carla would catch the bouquet.

Carla couldn't be more happy. Okay, so technically the Bride should be more happy than Carla, and she probably was, but in her own world, Carla was elated. She had just witnessed her brother get married to the woman he loved, and now here she was sharing the first dance with the man she loved.
"Oh, I think I will be just as excited if not more Bruce" Carla said, and then thought about what he had asked, "Wait, so you think we'll get married?" she asked, not that she wouldn't want to get married to Bruce, but she didn't think it would be something he would want.
As the dance came to an end and the Wedding Planner shouted out about the bouquet being thrown, Carla wasn't going to miss out on that she thought. Giving Bruce a quick kiss on the lips, before running into the crowd.
She saw the guy who had caught them at the Cathedral doors earlier that day, in the middle of all the girls. Carla began to laugh and even more so when Claire shouted she was sorry. Carla didn't care though, all she cared about was getting that bouquet. And she was going to make sure she got it, as she hurled into the crowd of girls, and was sure she stood on a few feet along the way, as she saw it coming toward her, she then jumped up, knocking over Henry in the process and grabbed the bouquet.
"Yes, yes, YES, it's mine" she said as she looked at Bruce and grinned, and then looked at Sam and gave him a sheepish look. "Hey brother, looks like its me next" she said and laughed as she then walked over to Bruce, clutching the bouquet and put her arm around his neck and pulled him into a kiss.

Gabriel was late for the reception. He was late because he was trying to convince Mohinder to come. He just wanted Mohinder to come. It was boring without his toy. He grabbed Mohinder and the two of them teleported to the reception as the bouquet was thrown. He just shook his head and dragged his scientist to the dance floor with him.
“We are going to have much fun, Mohinder” He said in a sarcastic voice as he chuckled a bit. “And before you say anything, I don’t care if they don’t like gays, I’m going to have fun with the man I love and I’m going to ignore their looks, if they annoy me I’ll simply use my powers and hurt them” He said with a smile as he looked down at Mohinder and noticed what he was wearing.
“Mohinder Hussein Suresh, that outfit of yours is hideous” He said shaking his head. “Then again, I did drag you away from the lab” He said rolling his eyes and chuckling a bit as he debated if they should dance. “Shall we put our Tango to work, Mo?” He asked awaiting an answer from Mohinder.

Mohinder was furious at Gabe. He had disturbed him from his work. He hated when people disturbed him from his work. It always happened. It just pissed him off sometimes. He sighed and just decided to let Gabe drag him to this reception. If it would make Gabe happy then he would do it.
He always had to make Gabe happy. It was his destiny.
Mohinder glanced around the reception area and followed Gabe to the dance floor. He was wearing a lab coat and some scrubs. Oh how he looked hideous. He was so under dressed. He really was embarrassed, but whatever.
“Not saying anything, Gabriel” He said calling Gabe by his full name and not his little nickname that he called him which was Gabe. He sighed and just smiled at Gabe. “You could have let me change, fool” He said rolling his eyes when Gabe said that he looked hideous.
“Tango?” He said rolling his eyes again, “I hate the Tango, Gabe”

Wedding Receptions were only one step up from the actual wedding. At least in Wedding Receptions Riley could melt into the crowd. At the actual wedding Riley had been bored, and she'd found a new person to be a friend... maybe. Gabriel Gray, his name was. Elle had warned about Gabriel, but Riley'd seen nothing wrong about him. Riley was quite bored at the wedding, but at least the bride and her groom had said their vows fairly quickly. Once the bride and groom had cut the cake at the reception, the real fun started. Or, rather, Riley's fun started.
See, Bishops have a way of getting into trouble, even if they don't mean to.
And Riley, like any other Bishop, wanted to get into some trouble. She had pushed her way to the main gaggle of girls and tried to catch the boquet. Of course that Carla girl caught it, but a flower came loose, and Riley stooped down to pick that up. Of course those flowers were real. Riley smiled, maybe this was a good-luck omen. Maybe it meant that she would find some boy who would like her for who she was, soon.
Riley turned and spotted none other than Gabriel. Her eyes widened and a smile lit her face. "Gabriel!" She cried, waving the flower above her. "I see you, Gabriel!" She walked toward him, narrowly missing tipping over a punch bowl, and stopped right in front of him. "Gabriel, I have a present for you."
She presented to the much older man the flower. He would have much more use for it than her, because she knew she wasn't yet ready to have a boyfriend. Maybe Gabriel could find a girlfriend... maybe Elle? Riley hated Elle's current boyfriend, even if she hadn't fully met him. She thought Gabriel would be a much better match. "I found the flower, it was from the boquet. You will have better luck with it than me."

“Why don’t you go home and change” Gabriel said to Mohinder with a slight smirk. “And we can go the dance later” He said as he stuck his tougue out like a child.
He turned away from Mohinder for a moment, not knowing that he had left and glanced down at Riley. He smiled a bit as he shook his head, “Thanks Riley” He said with a smile as he took it away from her placing the flower in one of his tux pockets showing it off proudly with a grin.
“Wasn’t the vows amazing?” He asked with a smile as he decided to make a decent conversation with Riley, hoping that Mohinder wouldn’t get mad at him for talking with a girl. Of course, he wouldn’t get mad at him. Mohinder probably wouldn’t show back up that was how lame Mohinder was.

“Maybe I’ll go home and change” Mohinder said shaking his head. The fact was that he wasn’t going to return. He was a work alcoholic. He hated to be disturbed by people. So he was glad that Gabe was giving him the go ahead to go back and change.
He heard a little girl call Gabe’s name and ignored it as he rolled his eyes and walked away, disappearing through the crowd and back to where he was working at. He hated Weddings and he just needed to get away from them. He wasn’t open about this relationship that Gabe and he had going on, he didn’t want to make it public, so it was best for him to leave. He left the building.

Henry had been all to focused hitting on some girl that he didn't see the bouquet coming at him. The flower smacked him upside the head and he got a mouth full of petals and pollen. "What the hell?" Henry said, not realizing what this meant. In a sense a potential hazard to his own life. Before he knew it, Henry was in the middle of a dog pile of girls. Now normally this would be a good thing if they weren't tearing and clawing at him just to get a bouquet. Not to mention he got kicked in the ribs a few times.
Henry managed to unscramble himself from the pile, but he looked anything but clean. He had heel prints on his jacket, his hair was a complete mess, and he broken rib. He turned and noticed the girl he had been flirting with gone. "Aw that's just great," he said, mumbling a few choice words. He tried to fix his outfit, but gave up on it. Walking away from the crowd of women, Henry bumped into a young girl who was talking to an older man. He recognized them from earlier.
"Sorry about that. Hey, wait you look like someone. By any chance are you related to a Elle Bishop?" he asked her.

Riley grinned as Gabriel fitted the flower, which turned out to be a rose, into his breast pocket. Somehow, though, a rose did not fit him. He wasn’t the rose-type person that Riley thought a rose-type person would be. In fact, Gabriel didn’t exactly feel like a flower-type person at all. Nevertheless, it made Riley feel better to know that Gabriel was nice some times. Her grin widened when Gabriel said thanks. “You’re welcome, Gabriel.” She answered back.
“The wedding vows?” Riley asked, and then stuck out her tongue. “I don’t like weddings, why do you think I’d like wedding vows?” Then Riley shrugged almost absentmindedly, “But I guess their vows were interesting. Too bad weddings aren’t my thing. I’d hate to be the pastor who has to give vows twenty times a day.”
Riley was about to say something else when someone ran into her, pushing her into Gabriel. “Oof!” She cried, and then scowled, “Sorry, Gabriel, really. And who do you—oh.” She recognized the boy who had run into her. He had sat down next to her and Gabriel during the wedding procession, but they hadn’t been able to talk. She’d disappeared with Elle soon afterward. “Hello. I don’t believe—” Riley noticed she was talking while the boy was talking.
“Yeah, my sister’s Elle. It was a good guess, and right on, too. I’m Riley Bishop, how do you do?” Riley extended her hand to be shaken. “I don’t believe I caught your name earlier.” She said, still smiling.

He couldn't help laughing as Carla ran for her life, taking out several people in the process, just to get the bouquet. He didn't understand why girls so wanted to get it. It was just confusing. Well, he didn't really believe that if you caught it you were going to be next.
Of course, his expression changed when Carla actually caught the thing, and he looked over to Sam. The look of horror on Sam's face was priceless. So, he walked over to him, starting to joke.
"You know. I'm thinking about asking Carla to marry me. I just wanted your blessing first" he said, grinning at Sam, as Carla came over and kissed him.
"I'm just stirring up your brother, after that" He said to her.
